Italian Lessons Free – The Weather

As a conversation starter, talking about the weather (il tempo) always works. In Italian, these phrases are indispensable when you want to do this. The following are some great conversation starters in the form of Italian questions that you can ask about the weather:
che tempo fa? (what’s the weather like?)
che tempo fa oggi? (what’s the weather like today?)
fa bel tempo (the weather is fine)
And now some Italian responses that you can give about the weather as well:
fa brutto tempo (the weather is bad)
fa fresco (it’s cool)
fa freddo (it’s cold)
fa caldo (it’s hot)
c’è il sole (it’s sunny)
c’è vento (it’s windy)
piove (it’s raining)
nevica (it’s snowing)
And now for something for the more confident!
per domenica hanno messo il sole, speriamo (it’s supposed to be sunny on Sunday, let’s hope so)
